William Johns - Experienced Private Practice Psychiatrist
An analytical problem solver, William Johns has past experience as a private practice psychiatrist. In this capacity, he worked with patients of all ages, helping resolve behavioral and emotional issues. His professional endeavors have built on a diverse academic background in human behavioral management, medical informatics, chemistry, and medicine.
Mr. Johns pursued a B.A. in Chemistry at the University of South Florida from 1990 to 1993, undertaking duties as a Patient Care Trainee with the Shriner's Hospital for Children. He next worked towards a Medical Doctor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, notably earning the Award for Clinical Excellence in the Psychiatry Clerkship.
From 1998 to 2002, William Johns undertook a residency in general psychiatry at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu. He earned the General Psychiatry Residency Outstanding Resident Award, subsequently pursuing a University of Hawaii Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. During this time, Mr. Johns served as Chief Resident with the institution’s General Psychiatry Residency Program, pursuing a three-year research project on “Risk & Sensation Seeking among Surfers in Hawaii.”
In addition to his private practice work, Johns was a member of the Mars Homestead Project’s Program Study Team from 2004 to 2005. The initiative had the aim of creating the first local-materials-sourced permanent settlement on Mars.
An experienced former surfer, Mr. Johns also has experience as a Cessna 152 private pilot. He enjoys playing classical piano and spending time with his family in his free time.
