Steve Dingman - Drug Safety Physician, UCB, Inc., Raleigh, NC



Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Steve Dingman, MD, has built a long and successful career as a research physician. Throughout his various positions, he has employed his extensive training to bring and exemplary skill set to each of his employers.

Since 2010, Steve Dingman has been a Drug Safety Physician in Global Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance for UCB, Inc., a global pharmaceutical company that focuses on severe central nervous system and immunologic disorders. In his capacity as a Drug Safety Physician, he is responsible for the review of safety sections of Phase I protocols as well as Phase II-IV protocols. He is also a member of UCB’s global Product Lifecycle Team and Clinical Sub Team for sleep and movement disorders.

In addition, Dingman provides medical review and assessment of global IND and post-marketing safety reports and manages local regulatory assessment for reporting to the Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada.

Prior to joining UCB, Inc., Steve Dingman worked for many years at SRA International, Inc., in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He began as Project Manager at SRA International, overseeing all aspects of clinical trials. Over the years, he worked his way up, becoming Medical Director in 2006 and then Senior Director for Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance in 2008. In that capacity, he oversaw SRA’s medical affairs and pharmacovigilance throughout Europe, North America, and the rest of the world. In addition, he provided overall management for the development and deployment of pharmacovigilance operation infrastructure, finances, processes, and people to ensure pharmacovigilance in all of SRA’s endeavors.

Dingman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Iowa. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Steve Dingman is a member of both the American Medical Association and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
