Nimish Kadakia - Nimish Kadakia



Nimish Kadakia, MD, has practiced at Irvine Orthopaedic Associates in Irvine, California, for nearly 10 years. A board-certified physician, Dr. Kadakia also possesses advanced certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He received a 2011 OCMA Physician of Excellence award and earned designation as an Orange County Top Doctor from Orange Coast Magazine in January of that same year.

Before joining Irvine Orthopaedic Associates, Nimish Kadakia completed extensive training in medicine and surgery. He double-majored in Kinesiology and Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles before entering the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he received his MD in 1995. Dr. Kadakia then served as an intern in general surgery at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center. He further honed his skills during an orthopaedic surgery residency and a fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center, respectively.

A respected researcher, Nimish Kadakia has collaborated on numerous presentations and publications. He has studied artificial hip joint dislocation, knee alignment, and glenohumeral osteoarthritis, among other subjects. Dr. Kadakia endeavors to treat his patients with the latest techniques and methodologies; he regularly networks with colleagues and participates in conferences sponsored by professional organizations such as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

When not researching or treating patients at Irvine Orthopaedic Associates, Nimish Kadakia enjoys a number of outdoor and athletic activities. He likes to unwind and stay in shape by skiing and playing basketball. He is also an avid cyclist and tri-athlete, having recently completing the Solvang Century and Los Angeles Triathlon. Dr. Kadakia lives in Southern California with his wife and two children.
