Hjalti Sölvason is a Certified Securities Broker with an MBA from the University of Edinburgh. He also studied in Copenhagen where he graduated as a Systems Analyst from the Copenhagen Business School. Through his career he has worked in several managerial positions such as a human resource manager, operation manager, purchasing manager, senior manager and CEO. Hjalti has experience in the investment banking industry, the pharmacy retail industry and the IT industry. In his early career stages Hjalti also worked as a software system designer and programmer.
At the University of Reykjavik, Hjalti holds a part time teaching position in General Management and has held conference presentations on Human Resource Management, IT strategy and Management Challenges.
Hjalti has managed and coordinated new business startups within the companies he has worked for such as SAP, IT Consultancy and Banking Services. He speaks English fluently, Danish bilingual, German conversational and his mother tongue is Icelandic.
The companies Hjalti has worked for are Capital Path Partners, Askar Capital, Milestone, Lyf og heilsa, Nyherji, Tolvumidstodin and Kommunedata. He has worked for several committees like the association for Economists and he was the chairman in a squash association for some time. Hjalti likes to travel, play golf and squash once in a while. He is also keen on going on hiking tours and spending time with the family.
