Glenda Sanders


Raised in South Africa, Judge Glenda Sanders graduated from the Law School of Natal University and later pursued post-graduate legal education at Clare College, Cambridge University in England. Upon obtaining her LL.M. from Cambridge University, Judge Glenda Sanders returned to South Africa, where she practiced as a barrister in Durban, South Africa, for about five years. As a barrister, Judge Glenda Sanders tried a number of criminal and civil matters until she moved to the United States and joined the international law firm, Latham & Watkins, LLP. At Latham & Watkins, Judge Glenda Sanders practiced first as an Associate and later, after 1992, as a Partner. Judge Glenda Sanders practiced as a business trial lawyer, focusing on securities and intellectual property disputes, and she played an active role in law firm management as a member of the firm’s Associates and Recruiting Committees. While in private practice Judge Glenda Sanders was a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the American Association of Business Trial Lawyers. She was also a Delegate to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Complex Litigation Panel. Judge Glenda Sanders was sworn in as a Judge of the Superior Court of the State of California in 2003. Since then, Judge Glenda Sanders has presided over civil and criminal cases in various State Courts located in Orange County, California, including the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach, and the West Justice Center in Westminster.
