Dr. Robert L. Block - Owner
A member of the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians, Dr. Robert L. Block owns and operates Acuity Eye Physicians & Surgeons, P.C., in the city of Meriden. Since April 2007, Dr. Block has offered surgical ophthalmology services for individuals in that community. Dr. Robert L. Block previously worked at the Fichman Eye Center in Manchester, Connecticut, a position he held for nearly two years before he decided to open his own private practice.
A graduate of Vassar College in the fields of chemistry and nutrition, Dr. Robert L. Block subsequently sat on the Alumni Interview Committee for the school for seven years. He later enrolled at the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, which awarded him a medical degree in 1990. Dr. Block was named to a position on Sackler’s Alumni Interview Committee five years after he graduated, and he remained on this board for five years.
Dr. Robert L. Block held three almost concurrent positions until August 2000. He assisted patients at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary starting in 1996, and worked with nearby University Ophthalmic Consultants and Rosenblum Eye Centers beginning in 1997. In 2000, after Dr. Robert L. Block completed his tenure at these institutions, he decided to relocate to California, and began work with the Santa Cruz Medical Foundation. He later served as an Attending Surgeon with the Palo Alto Veterans Administration. He continues to draw on his wide professional background in treating his current patients in Connecticut.
