Doreen Boxer currently serves as Managing Partner at Boxer McLaughlin, APC, located in Newport Beach, California. As a partner at the firm, Doreen Boxer focuses on representing clients in criminal defense cases at the federal and state level. The firm also provides services in employment law litigation. Doreen Boxer’s responsibilities include business development, client representation, and community outreach as well.
Prior to joining Boxer McLaughlin, Doreen Boxer served as a Public Defender with the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s office in California. In addition to hiring, training, and supervising attorneys, her responsibilities also included overseeing information systems, writing and presenting business plans, constructing annual reports, and managing a $31 million budget. Boxer also created a website for the Public Defender’s office and designed operational systems that increased efficiency and performance.
Doreen Boxer earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Marketing from the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business. She went on to complete her Juris Doctor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. While a student at Yeshiva University, she served as an Editor at the International Law Journal and worked in the Criminal Law Clinic. She later attended Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where she completed a certification program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government. She belongs to NAWBO (the National Association of Women Business Owners), the North Orange County Bar Association, the Public Law Center, the OCCDBA (Orange County Criminal Defense Bar Association), and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association.
