Dominic Scali - MGM Resorts International, Michael Mina's StripSTEAK
A recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), David Dominic Scali holds Bachelor’s degrees in Real estate and Marketing with a focus in entrepreneurship. During his final semesters at the public institution, Dominic Scali served on the UNLV American Marketing Association (AMA) Board. As its President, Dominic Scali led his team of 40 members to countrywide collegiate success, competing among the nation’s 250 AMA chapters. Dominic Scali also earned accolades such as Outstanding Professional Development, the Karl Mann Student Website Award, and Outstanding Fundraising, as well was placing third in the Kohler Case Competition and the UNICEF Marketing Plan Competition. Additionally, Dominic Scali participated in the final stage of the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup, Nevada’s yearly business-plan contest. Furthering his university involvement, Dominic Scali joined the Executive Committee for the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) at UNLV. Beginning in 2008, Dominic Scali helped create relationships between UNLV students and the Las Vegas business sector. Dominic Scali also affiliated with the Financial Management Association International (FMA), where he worked to enhance the quality of financial education through research, conferences, and interactive opportunities. Excelling in his academic studies, Dominic Scali maintained an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.6. From 2002 to 2010, Dominic Scali remained a member of the National Honor Society, and in 2004, he was invited to join the 675,000-member The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Entrepreneurially, Dominic Scali helped found the UNLV chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity, one of the nation’s oldest and largest professional business fraternities. In 2007, Dominic Scali co-founded UNLV Nightlife, where he served as Director in Charge for a number of social networking events. The following year, Dominic Scali and a fellow student established the Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) at UNLV. As Vice President, Dominic Scali helped advance students’ knowledge and experience in the media industry. While attending UNLV, Dominic Scali obtained a position with Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino’s STRIPSTEAK, a steakhouse owned by renowned chef Michael Mina. Continuing his position as a Food Runner, Dominic Scali applies over a decade of food-industry expertise to his challenging role at the premier Las Vegas restaurant. One month after graduating from UNLV in 2010, Dominic Scali joined the innovative marketing agency Whispering Giants, where he currently serves as a fulltime intern. In his spare time, Las Vegas native Dominic Scali devotes his time and energy to a number of philanthropic organizations, and as an avid reader, he considers Stephen D. Levitt, Robert Kiyosaki, Harry S. Dent, Jr., Malcolm Gladwell, and Rhonda Byrne among his favorite authors.
