Chad Urie - Chad Urie

The real estate business world is not the only domain in which Chad Urie finds himself at home.  When he is not taking the world of real estate by storm, he is happiest when helping others through volunteering.

The institution which is a prominent recipient of Chad’s passion for volunteering is the Monarch School. The Monarch School is a unique academic institution. It provides a supportive educational path for individuals impacted by homelessness. The school seeks to reach out to children without proper housing and offer them an education; Chad shares the belief of the school that quality education is the key to breaking the chain of poverty.

The institution relies heavily on monetary donations as well as volunteers to help with the programs offered. It is because of people like Urie that the Monarch School has been able to flourish.

Outside of his career in real estate, he spends time with the students at Monarch. Urie, along with other volunteers, provides tutoring and academic support during the afternoons. Responsibilities include:

  • Special event support: planning, set up, implementing, tear down
  • Administrative support: office work
  • Reading to students at the library
  • Academic support: tutoring various subjects
  • Classroom assistance: teacher aide, providing one-on-one help
  • Chaperoning field trips
  • Providing transportation to appointments off-site (doctor, dentist)
  • Arts and crafts
  • Monarch Dinner Program: held Monday and Friday evenings. Volunteers provide a main course, vegetable/salad, drinks, and dessert for up to 120 people
  • Urie finds that his success in his real estate career prepares him for other ventures like his volunteer work. The constant interaction with others is something he finds fulfilling, in both the business world and elsewhere.

Without people like Chad Urie, Monarch Project would cease to excel as it does. He is a proud supporter and volunteer of the only program of its kind. Urie and the Monarch staff are providing a model with which to educate the community and improve the lives of people in the greater San Diego area.
