Captain David Schnell offers an array of skills and accomplishments in his current position as Executive Director of Christ Kitchen, a nonprofit located in San Diego that delivers meals to hundreds of people in need. Over the course of his versatile career, Captain Schnell has honed his leadership, technical, team building, and management skills. He has experience utilizing performance management to achieve financial and technical goals, as well as the ability to make strides in a cost-constrained environment. Additionally, Captain David Schnell possesses excellent communication skills, including presentation and writing proficiencies.

Prior to taking on his current position at Christ Kitchen, Captain David Schnell served in the United States Navy as the Commanding Officer of the USS Peleliu. In this role, he maintained responsibility for daily operations while striving to reach outlined goals and objectives, in addition to managing an annual budget of approximately $12 million while maximizing resources to control costs. Previously, Captain David Schnell spent a year as a Staff Officer for the DEEP BLUE Directorate, where he fulfilled the role of Subject Matter Expert and Principal Technical Advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations.

Over the course of his career, Captain David Schnell has held additional positions in the Navy, including Branch Chief and Executive Assistant for the War on Terrorism Directorate and Commanding Officer of the USS Ford. He supplements his career with a B.S. in Political Science from Bemidji State University and a M.S. in Business Management from Saint Mary College.

Currently, Captain David Schnell is enrolled in the M.S. program for Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies through Henley-Putnam University in San Jose, California. Captain Schnell supplements his career through participation with the Surface Navy Association and the U.S. Naval Institute.
