The recipient of the Be the Difference achievement award from Aramark Corporation for his exceptional customer service, Robert Clark Day III works in food and beverage sales at Coors Field in Denver. Marketing packages for private suites, he sets up the VIP boxes and greets guests prior to Colorado Rockies baseball games, a role he has fulfilled since 2008.

In 2012, Day also completed a four-month internship at Jeremy Bloom’s Wish of a Lifetime, which grants wishes to senior citizens. In this capacity, he interviewed and recorded the life stories of seniors and became instrumental in sending a veteran of World War II and the Korean War to Washington, D.C., to view the memorials of those wars.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, he briefly attended college, to no avail. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, becoming a machine gunner in the infantry. As a member of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, deployed twice to Iraq. With three other Marine battalions and two Army battalions, the 1st Battalion participated in November 2004 in the three-week battle of Operation Phantom Fury against an estimated 3,000 insurgents in Fallujah. Twenty-one Americans were killed, including comrade Bradley Faircloth.

In September 2005, his battalion traveled to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. After assisting with home repairs and cleanup in Slidell and St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, he and seven fellow Marines flew to Mobile to provide home repairs for Bradley Faircloth’s mother, Kathleen Faircloth. Later, Robert Clark Day III and Kathleen Faircloth appeared on local television to discuss the bravery of Bradley Faircloth and circumstances of his death.

Honorably discharged with renewed appreciation for education, Mr. Day earned a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. focused on business-to-business marketing at the University of Colorado Denver.
