Some of the offices in which Rizwan D. Nurani, M.D., has provided services include the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center, the Florida Radiation Oncology Group, and the Southside and Cyberknife Cancer Center. In addition, he served as an Elected Member of the Bylaws Committee and a Member of the Cancer Committee at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. Throughout the years, Dr. Nurani has been recognized numerous times for his work. Among the awards he has received are the Groupe Européen de Curiethérapie/ESTRO Junior Brachytherapy Award, the American Brachytherapy Society Resident Travel Award, and the Radiological Society of North America Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Nurani has had articles and abstracts published in many professional publications. He co-authored a genitourinary book chapter in The Role of MRI in Radiation Therapy Planning, which was published in 2011. He co-wrote several articles for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, including one entitled “Long-term Biochemical Control and Survival in High-risk Prostate Cancer Patients Treated with Seed Implant-based Therapy.” In addition, his research has been published in the American Journal of Clinical Oncology and the Journal of Urology.
On an almost annual basis, Rizwan D. Nurani, M.D., gives presentations on topics related to radiation oncology. In 2011, he was an invited speaker at the Region I Meeting of the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists, where he gave a lecture entitled “Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Oligometastatic Disease to the Liver.” He has also appeared at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the Joint Annual Meeting of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology/Groupe Européen de Curiethérapie.
