Kimon Angelides - Kimon Angelides
With a distinguished background in healthcare and academia, Kimon Angelides, Ph.D. founded and serves as Chief Executive Officer of EosHealth, a universal healthcare program for corporations, healthcare providers, and individual members. Inspired by the ancient Greek word, Eos, the Goddess of the New Dawn, Dr. Angelides formed EosHealth in 2008 in a dedicated effort to introduce a “new dawn” for personal wellness, delivering healthcare services over the Web, via mobile phones, and workplace kiosks. He continues to maintain focus on his primary mission, namely, improving as many lives as possible by getting more members involved in their own personal wellness.
Dr. Angelides earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconson and went on to study medicine at the Université Louis-Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, He then earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California at Santa Cruz. After many years of teaching, he went on to earn an MBA from the University of Durham in the United Kingdom.
Before expanding his services to a broader range of clients with EosHealth, Dr. Angelides was founder and CEO of DiabetesAmerica from 2004 until 2007 and served as Chairman of the Board of the DiabetesAmerica Network. He has many years of experience and commitment to education in and around healthcare, and has held positions in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University and in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. From 1986 to 1995, he held a professorship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and from 1995 to 1999, he served as Professor and Chair of Cell Biology and Biomedical Sciences, University of Durham, England. He left academia in 1999 in order to expand the healthcare field through his entrepreneurial ventures.
