Douglas Battista is the Vice President of Human Resources for Jenny Craig (a Nestlé company), managing responsibilities for 4000 employees across North America. In this capacity, Battista reports to and supports the Company’s Global CEO. Prior to his current role at Jenny Craig, Battista spent three and one-half years as the Head of Talent Acquisition for Nestlé USA in Glendale, California. During his tenure at Nestlé, he made major improvements to the Human Resources department, including implementing programs in both analytics and recruitment. Prior to this appointment, Battista served Nestlé’s Logistics Division as Human Resources Director.
While directing Nestlé’s Logistics Division, Douglas Battista improved the HR service delivery to the business, saved thousands of dollars through the elimination of redundancies and inefficient processes, and automated manual processes by streamlining the Human Resource delivery system at over a dozen field offices. Additionally, Battista took the initiative to create and implement the company’s seven course Logistics Training Cycle, a training tool that covers Nestlé’s US supply chain process in depth. He was responsible for the HR needs of numerous distributions centers as well as nearly half a dozen private fleet terminals.
As the Head of Talent Acquisition for Nestlé USA, Battista led a team of 40 HR professionals who supported 19 separate divisions of the firm. He improved company-wide hiring practices and recruitment procedures. He built the HR Analytics Department, a group that supported the business by using data to measure the effectiveness of the Human resources function. By implementing a system of direct hire versus recruitment via agency, Battista saved the firm both fill time and related expenses; his department satisfied over 1,500 new positions annually.
Prior to Nestlé, Battista acted as HR Director for ARAMARK Corporate headquarters in Burbank, as well as the Company’s Western Region operations, a business that spanned 10 states and 4000 employees. His responsibilities included advising senior management on issues such as finance, IT, and marketing. As well, Battista created and implemented ARAMARK’s current online performance evaluation system. This was his second opportunity to work for the firm, as he had previously served in both Connecticut and Texas.
In addition to Nestlé and ARAMARK, Douglas Battista has also worked for The Walt Disney Company where he oversaw recruitment for the Global Hardlines and Marketing Creative Arts Divisions. At Disney, he had the opportunity to gain experience in Change Management when he was responsible for coaching and counseling employees who were terminated due to divisional closings.
Educationally, Douglas Battista holds a Bachelor of Science in Travel Tourism and Hospitality Administration from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY and a Masters in Organizational Behavior from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Battista is a natural leader and a resourceful and innovative HR professional, even at a senior level. His 15 years of focused experience position him as a valuable asset to his field. He lives in Southern California where he enjoys his close proximity to the area’s many parks, including the Santa Monica State Beach Park.
