Over twenty years as an IT professional with diverse experience in many aspects of the software life cycle. This includes quality assurance, quality control, tool assessment through implementation, process design through implementation and all types of testing.

Experienced with Agile, Scrum, Extreme Programming, Object Oriented and Waterfall development  methodologies. Fluent with Black-Box, White-Box, Grey Box, Object Oriented Testing Methods and generally use the FLOOT (Full Life Cycle Object Orient Testing) methodology or some form of it on most testing projects.

MetLife Insurance Co. (11/09 – 06/11) Sr. Quality Assurance / Quality Control Consultant

Responsibilities are for the creation of process and procedures for the testing organization. Focus is on creating training classes and presenting them over the web and in smaller classrooms. Facilitated and participated in working sessions of tools, templates, process, procedures and best practices.    Activities Included but not limited to requirements, trace-ability, test planning, test case writing and automated testing across all lines of business. Implementation of automation using QTP allowed us to take the regression testing of our largest application from 5-7 days to 3 days. Load testing using LoadRunner and add-ins as needed. Updated HP Quality Center to 10.0 (Linux and Oracle) and helped migrate all the databases and the users to the new release.  Responsible for all the HP tools in the Irving office.

RCG Consulting (08/06 – 11/09) Quality Assurance Process Specialist – Consultant (PepsiCo and JCPenney)

Responsibilities are for the creation of process and procedures for the testing organization. Focus is on creating training classes, brownbag presentations, templates and checklists. Facilitated and participated in working sessions of tools, templates, process, procedures and best practices.    Created a process (with accompanying documentation) for the following: Test Lessons Learned Process, Technical Review and Inspection Process (TRIP inspections and walkthroughs), Test Case Development Best Practices (Quality Center) and Tools Integration Best Practices (CaliberRM, StarTeam & Quality Center).   Updated process and procedures for the following:  Non-Functional Requirements (CaliberRM & Quality Center), Operation Readiness Testing, Test Design, Testing Foundations, and Quality Center Best Practices including defect flow diagrams and swim lanes.  Performed gap analysis and revised artifacts as needed to comply with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) definitions, process and procedures.  Organization is attempting CMMI 3.  Working on integration of a hybrid of SAP and i2 for:  CRM, OTC, ISCP, P2P and manufacturing utilizing both the BTP and RICEF processes.

Benefit Mall (01/06-8/06) Quality Assurance Lead – Consultant

Worked on delivery of a new enterprise, web-based health insurance sales and billing administration system.  This product was created by an external software development team and required test expertise from outside of the organization to deliver the product on-time, within budget and with a high level of quality.  Responsibilities included, but not limited to the development and implementation of a regression testing methodology, establish an approach and schedule for release(s) and leading a small testing team accordingly. Activities included, but were not limited to writing test cases and then testing of new requirements, change requests and defect fixes.  Deliverables were a trace-ability matrix, test pans, test scenarios and detailed test cases. Lead effort while participating in test execution, defect management and reporting of results to development and project management. Created trouble tickets for defects, change requests and enhancements as required. Worked with development and project\product management to find a resolution, complete validation and ensure proper migration to production.  Technical: Microsoft .NET, Oracle, SharePoint & Tracker.

Responsibilities included but not limited to development and implementation of QA methods procedures and best practices (Including TestDirector, QTP, WinRunner and LoadRunner).  Writing manual test cases, scripting and custom feature writing those test cases. Activities Included but not limited to requirements, trace-ability, test planning, test case writing and automated testing across all lines of business. Responsibilities included but not limited to development and implementation of QA methods and practices (Including TestDirector 7.6, WinRunner (including a great deal of scripting and custom feature writing) QTP 7.6 and LoadRunner 8.0). Created and implemented an SDLC (Software Life-Cycle Development) with clearly identified deliverables for Sniffer Business Unit. Process included instructions with attached forms and templates for high level artifacts used during a typical lifecycle. Traveled all over to train employees, held classes and facilitate kick-off meetings for engineering, explained various methods of test case uses and how to write effective test cases and defects. Helped open the Bangalore office and establish engineering and QA procedures in that office. Inspection with verification and validation of code, enhancements and defect fixes prior to release.   • Project & Engagement Management: Helped rebuild project and move from New York, NY to Dallas, TX. Built a cross functional team with both employees and consultants, improved process via project plan and load leveling as well as implementing process, reporting and automation. Analyzed, designed, executed and then reporting of load, stress and performance tests of an enterprise web application program.

  • Tandem – Consultant
  • SQP was engaged for the development and implementation, QA methods and practices in one line of business. This includes test planning, test case writing and automation testing. Implemented an automation process using WinRunner (including a great deal of scripting and custom feature writing), QTP and TestDirector in one department and then documented the framework so that it could be deployed. Created an intranet website for status reporting. Created a testing methodology for software quality assurance, prior to creating any test scripts.  Wrote requirements, designed, scripted, tested and implemented an automation framework.

  • Mannatech – Consultant
  • Implemented an automation process using WinRunner, LoadRunner and TestDirector for a multi-level marketing company. We were responsible for the testing, verification and validation of an international order entry system. Responsible for the validation of the business processes against use cases and sequence diagrams. Created regression, load and stress test plans. Automated test scripts and created test suites for execution. After automated test suites were executed, the results were emailed to interested parties and defects opened in TestDirector.

  • GTE-CLEC – Consultant
  • Acted as Quality Assurance Manager for UAT (user acceptance testing).  The telecommunications deregulation enabled GTE to create a start up to bundle their products with other telecommunications companies’ products. In order to make this possible, one large application was created that interfaced with several other telecommunications companies applications used for provisioning and delivery. Managed a staff of consultants and employees. Created the test cases, test plans and reported to management on code coverage and testing progress through the user acceptance process.

    Motel 6 (06/1992 to 08/1996) Business Analyst / Re-Engineering Consultant

    Completed the RFP, lead the interviews and served on the team that made the final selection for the Help Desk, Purchasing Department and Accounting Departments. Did the requirements gathering, wrote test cases, quality Budgeting Software. Created test plans, generated and executed detailed test cases. Performed data validation and produced technical documentation for end users. 

    Dr Pepper / Seven Up (10/1986 to 06/1992) Associate Manager of Marketing Administration – Employee

    Designed, created and maintained several databases with front end data entry screens to track coupon offers and marketing expenditures. Reported to management on budget verses expenditures.  The tools used were FoxPro and Lotus 123. Wrote test cases and tested the releases each mother, Reported to several levels of management on the results. Participated in the design of mainframe changes affecting the Marketing Departments and then verified the results of any code changes. Lead role in standardizing testing procedures. Responsibilities included testing programs from specifications and requirements. Identified issues and documented defects and inconsistencies as required in both software and documentation.
