Dan Fegan - Accomplished Sports Agent
Yale Law School graduate Dan Fegan is one of the most noteworthy sports agents in the world. He founded his own sports representation firm in 1991, which he sold 10 years later to Assante Wealth Management, a Canadian financial services company. Fegan then established a new firm, Dynasty Sports. He sold that company to Blue Entertainment Sports Television in 2009, and it was acquired by Lagardère Unlimited in 2010.
Dan Fegan currently serves as President of Basketball for Lagardère Unlimited, representing a total of 24 National Basketball Association (NBA) players. Two of his clients are All-Stars, including Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic. Mr. Fegan ranks fifth in client salary totals for the NBA, representing players with more than $86 million in earnings. One of his clients, Ricky Rubio, has a max contract.
In the past five years, Fegan has personally negotiated more than $1 billion in player contracts. He initiated the sign-and-trade provision and established the Gilbert Arenas Rule in the NBA. In 2010, he was named one of the top sports agents in the world by Business Insider, Inc. His client list includes Kris Humphries, Erick Dampier, Drew Gooden, Anderson Varejao, Jrue Holiday, and Reggie Evans, among others.
Dan Fegan participated in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011 in New York, where he hosted fashion events that connected the sports platform to other business arenas. To give back to his community through sports, he founded the Chris Dudley Basketball Camp for children who have diabetes.
