Robert Armstrong

Dr. Robert Armstrong is a highly-qualified orthopedic surgeon practicing at West Penn Orthopedics in Clarion, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Wilkes University is a small private college that stresses small class size and a highly personalized training program in various subjects. He is also a 1983 graduate of UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Robert is a specialist in complicated orthopedic operations such as knee replacement and has a thriving general surgical practice, but is also specially training to treat orthopedic sports injuries. He developed his interest in sports medicine while he was a member of the intercollegiate sports program. He also treats general disorders including arthritis, carpel tunnel, and bone injuries. His expertise includes all musculoskeletal problems.

Armstrong is a Board Certified Surgeon licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. All surgeons do not pursue certification, possibly because of the professional upgrade the Board of Orthopedic Surgery requires for a surgeon to maintain certification. This means that certified physicians like Robert are familiar with all new procedures and technologies that are being implemented in the orthopedic medicine industry. He is also an Honor Roll Healthgrades Recognized Doctor.

Robert's sports treatment specialties include all ligament, tendon, and cartilage injuries that are so common in athletes. He is also a specialist in the treatment of rotator cuff injuries that are common with baseball and football players. He is a member of three professional associations including the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Osteopathic Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
